Jon Ellis
owner, inspector
Jon has spent all of his adult life in work arenas that focus on built structures and how to make them both beautiful and highly functional in the environments in which they operate. With prior work in commercial fishing, cabinetry, furniture making, and carpentry, Jon Ellis has more recently spent the last 18 years building, maintaining, and inspecting custom homes. He has managed and overseen the work of a full array of sub-contractors—from electricians and plumbers to HVAC and roofers—ensuring the home owners’ desires are met, and helping them understand the significance of the different options available to them.
Jon does all the inspections and report writing for Finest Home Inspection. With an eye for detail and a love of building, Jon has the experience to understand the relationship of the different systems in your home and the critical points to watch for. While fluent in the language of the various trades, Jon is able to clearly explain the details of your home to those of us who may not be. He will use clear, concise terms that enable you to understand your home and what it needs.
A University of Illinois graduate in English, Jon enjoys spending time with his wife, two daughters, and their brood of pets. In his spare time, he is an avid reader, wood-worker and tries to fit in a newer hobby of stained glass.
